LVT is the most versatile hard flooring option available right now. Fully waterproof, warm underfoot, and compatible with underfloor heating, it handles everyday family life without showing it. Because individual tiles can be replaced if one is ever damaged, it is also one of the most practical long term choices. Brands range from Karndean and Amtico at the premium end to J2, Victoria and Brampton Chase at a more accessible price point. Suitable for almost any room in the house, LVT is our most commonly fitted hard flooring in Bedford.

Karndean
Karndean is a premium LVT brand and one we have been supplying in Bedford since the early 2000s; we were among the first independent stockists in the area. The designs are some of the most realistic available and the product is genuinely built to last. If you want herringbone, borders, or a bespoke layout, Karndean is the one to choose. Although it is not the cheapest option, it is the one you will still be happy with in 20 years. We keep Karndean samples in our Castle Road showroom so you can see them in person before committing.

Amtico
Amtico is another premium LVT brand, similar to Karndean in quality and design range. Made in Coventry, it comes in three ranges; Signature, Spacia, and Form; covering everything from high-end bespoke layouts to more accessible everyday options. If you are comparing Karndean and Amtico, the honest answer is that both are excellent and the right choice often comes down to the specific design you fall in love with. We supply and fit both and can show you samples from each side by side.

Laminate
Laminate gets a bad reputation because of the cheap versions sold in DIY chains. However, the quality laminate we supply; including Quick-Step with its Uniclic and Uniclick joining systems; is a genuinely different product. Scratch resistant, hardwearing, and good looking, it will last 20 years in the right room. The key limitation worth knowing is moisture; we would not fit laminate in a kitchen or bathroom. For living rooms, bedrooms and home offices though, it is a strong and cost effective choice. If you have been put off laminate before, it is worth seeing the quality end of the range.

Vinyl
Sheet vinyl is a practical, budget friendly option that works well in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. Unlike LVT, it is not as premium in appearance; however it is fully waterproof, easy to clean and available in a wide range of designs. For a rental property or utility space where affordability matters more than aesthetics, it does the job well and reliably. We supply and fit vinyl across Bedford and it remains one of our most popular options for landlords and practical spaces where cost is the primary consideration.

Engineered Wood
Engineered wood has a real hardwood veneer on the surface over a plywood base, so it looks and feels like solid wood. Because of the layered construction, it is more stable than solid wood and less prone to movement with temperature changes. It can also be sanded and refinished if needed, which extends its lifespan considerably. However, like laminate, it is not waterproof and therefore not suitable for wet rooms. For a lounge or dining room where you want the genuine look and feel of wood, it is a beautiful option. We fit engineered wood across Bedford, though it represents a smaller part of our work than carpet or LVT.
